I would like to offer you and your family a very warm welcome to Balgowan Primary School. We are delighted that you have an interest in our school and hope that you find our website useful.

Balgowan has high expectations and its ethos both encourages and promotes the best traditional values.  Achieving high levels of literacy and numeracy for all our pupils continue to be key priorities for the school, but our commitment to encouraging them to “ work hard “, “ be kind “ and  “ make friends “ provides us with an important focus for developing the whole child.

We are proud to have enthusiastic staff, who are strongly committed to achieving a happy, secure and supportive environment which we believe to be fundamental to the achievement of high standards of teaching and learning.  Balgowan recognises the critical role of parents in the learning process and you can be assured that we will work closely with you in many different ways to enable your child to grow and develop with confidence as an independent learner, fully prepared and equipped for meeting the future challenges at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and at the point of entry to Secondary education in Key Stage 3.
