Oct 3, 2024 Trips and Visits

On Thursday 3rd October, the School Council representatives from Year3-6 went on a trip to Parliament. We took a train and a tube to get there. The first thing we did was a tour.  The best bit was when we went to the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Did you know, on the ceiling of the Sovereign's Entrance there is a hatch where all the bills (ideas for laws) are kept. Next, we did a workshop where we played different games, like Pictionary, to help us understand the connections between Parliament and some very important objects. Then, Liam Conlon (Beckenham’s local MP) came in to tell us a bit about what Labour are trying to do and how we can get involved. After we had lunch and got some super cool Parliament badges. Finally we took a train and a tube back to Balgowan. By Sadie 5JA
